Car Seat FAQ's
Is it a legal requirement for my car seat to be professionally installed?
Although it isn't legally required, it is highly encouraged. Car seats are an important safety device and should be taken extremely seriously. Your child's chances of survival in a collision are impacted by how well your car seat is installed and used. The goal of a professional installation is to best educate you so you can confidently and correctly travel with your child. Sometimes a second set of eyes from someone with years of experience is helpful for troubleshooting any possible issues.
Can I bring a 'second-hand' or 'pre-loved' car seat for installation?
Yes of course you can! Before installation, a thorough inspection will be done. This is to ensure all parts are intact and in correct working order. The only reason your appointment would be terminated is if the car seat was damaged or unfit for use.
Can you install my 6 month old's car seat forward facing?
Although legally a child aged 6 months could be forward facing... Legally they MUST also meet the requirements stipulated by the manufacturer (this includes height marker's). It is also strongly recommend to keep your child rearward facing for as long as possible to protect their spine (at least 2 years but closer to 4 if possible).
